God bless you Victoria Beckham! You might be ready to pop out your fourth child (yep, fourth) child but you have still manage to produce a whole new dress line aimed at the young, fun and girlie among us. Inspired by the cartoon character Emily the Strange, the dresses are loose, colourful have a definite ’60s shape. Beckham claims that the line represents her “other side,” the alter ego to her more polished and glamorous style.

“These are the kind of dresses I’ve been searching for,” she admits. “The perfect little summer dress, something that was fun, something that was girly, something that was easy to wear, something that would take you from day through the night.”

This whimsical collection is due to launch for spring 2012, with Beckham hinting at a series of major appearances, with an event to coincide with London Fashion Week also a possibility (yay!). The line is set to retail in the $550 to $900 price range, making it more accessible than her main line.

As for the rumours that she plans to pose nude for Vogue à la Demi Moore for Vanity Fair, she says: “I’m not really one of these people that likes to go out and pose and flaunt being pregnant. Not like there’s anything wrong in that. I’m so proud to be pregnant and I feel so blessed and so happy, I really do. But I’m just not that kind of person. So, no, I won’t be taking my clothes off. I don’t think anyone needs to see that, other than my husband. Absolutely not.”

news breastcander

Geri Halliwell has joined forces with a Manchester MP in the fight against breast cancer.

John Leech, MP for Manchester Withington, met ‘Ginger Spice’ for a special strawberry tea party in the House of Commons to raise awareness for the Breast Cancer Care charity.

Some 50,000 people are diagnosed with the disease every year.

Mr Leech said: “I know that there will be countless families across my constituency who have been affected by breast cancer, either personally or through the experience of a friend, family member or work colleague.

“By hosting your own strawberry tea event this summer you can help Breast Cancer Care to continue to be there for anyone affected by this disease.

“I have worked closely with many cancer charities over the years and in Manchester Withington we have one of the best, The Christie Hospital, and it is campaigns like this that can help support The Christie and the thousands of patients fight this terrible disease.”

Geri added: “Get all your guests to kindly make a donation, which helps Breast Cancer Care to support over 1.7m people every year.

“Breast Cancer Care provides world class support, help and information to anyone affected by breast cancer.”

news melbnewinterview

I’m just a working-class girl from Leeds at heart. Always have been, always will be; money and success hasn’t changed that. I was born in Harehills, an inner-city suburb of Leeds, and later we lived in another part of the city, Burley, but I left home in my early teens and I learned about life by myself. My first job was dancing in Blackpool. Then in 1994, when I was 19, I joined a band called Touch, which became the Spice Girls, which was just so full on. My parents, Andrea and Martin, came to see us on tour, but we never had a lot of time together after that.

My husband, Stephen Belafonte, a producer, was a friend first. I had two children, Phoenix Chi, who’s now 12, and Angel, who’s four, and he had a daughter, Giselle, now six, by the time we became a couple. We all get on because I make sure we do. It’s a fine line between being a friend and a parent. But I’m determined that the girls grow up to be respectful. I can’t bear to see children who throw things around and don’t take care of their belongings. I guess I am very strict – I’m always telling them to tidy up their rooms and make their beds.

When the results of the DNA test came in and Angel was, in fact – no surprise – Eddie Murphy’s child, I encouraged their relationship from day one.

My littlest girl thinks she is a princess. Angel is into everything girly – princess shoes and pink dresses. She’s so sweet.

Phoenix is completely different, very curious and thoughtful. She’s also into sport and is a bit of a tomboy. She’s in sixth grade at the moment. I want to make sure all my children get well educated – every mum would like to see their children choose a decent nurturing profession, like medicine and I am no different. But I also want them to enjoy themselves, whether that means becoming a nerdy doctor or opening an orphanage or being a singer.

You have to be dedicated. We went to see Willow Smith perform live in Los Angeles, where we live. Phoenix, who is six months older than Willow, said to me, how cool is that, to be doing what she does? But I said, ‘Darling, if you wanted to be a singer now, you’d be practising all day every day in your room already – you wouldn’t be able to stop …’ But she isn’t like that, and you can’t force children, nor should you.

I have regular therapy sessions. Therapy makes you more aware of your partner. We don’t need counselling – it’s not like that. But it does make you more considerate of each other. It’s helped me to build good relationships with my daughters. It reminds you to check in with your kids every day. It is certainly not about blaming your parents – it just helps you understand events and helps you to change your attitudes and thought processes. It teaches you to respect each other.

I’m six months pregnant and Stephen and I couldn’t be happier. I am eating a lot. Luckily, Stephen is a good cook.

The Spice Girls are still a family. You can’t go through what we did so young and not have a special bond. We don’t have to see each other all the time, and we don’t have to agree on everything, but I know we will always support each other. My friends mean the world to me.”

Hard Rock’s Spice Girls Artist Spotlight T-shirts, featuring a butterfly design and the girls’ signatures, can be bought from Hard Rock cafes in London, Manchester and Edinburgh.

news bestdressedmums

The Spice Girls have all come a long way since their days of Adidas tracksuits and Union Jack dresses.

But it is Victoria Beckham who has worked the hardest to leave her days of PVC all-in-ones and thigh-skimming dresses far behind. The former singer has earned the support of the fashion world by building up her highly successful, eponymous label, dressing A-listers including Blake Lively, Katherine Jenkins and Elle Macpherson.

And – perhaps even more impressively – she has also earned the support of her fellow mothers. The 37-year-old has topped a poll of the best dressed mums-to-be. She collected 34 per cent of the votes in a survey of 16 to 25-year-olds, conducted by online fashion retailer Josoblu.co.uk, closely followed by This Morning favourite Holly Willoughby with 28 per cent.

This is Victoria‘s fourth pregnancy, so it’s probably no surprise that she has worked out how to look her best. Most of the other pregnant celebrities on the list also already had children. But Natalie Portman and Pink also sneaked into the top eight.

Mums picked Victoria as their favourite because despite her tottering heels, she dresses well without revealing too much bump. They thought her maternity style for casual and smart occasions was perfect and that she has the balance just right.

Holly, who gave birth to her daughter Belle on April 14, was praised for her somewhat revealing style on Dancing on Ice and her practical fashion choices during the day.

Emma Bunton was another Spice Girl picked out for her stylish maternity attire, collecting 15 per cent of the vote, with TV presenter and model Myelene Klass securing 12 per cent. Both were picked out for their effortless style.

Other stars who made the list were Hollywood A-listers Jessica Alba and Natalie Portman alongside Posh’s fellow spice girl Mel B.

A spokesman from Josoblu.co.uk, said: ‘Bearing in mind she’s a fashion designer and a style icon, it’s only right that Victoria Beckham should top this poll. She always looks good, whatever the occasion, and wears pregnancy really well. Fourth time round, she should have pregnancy chic spot on, and she has. She has a dubious love of very high heels for a pregnant woman. I’m sure when she’s at home she quickly kicks of the heels and slouches around in her flats like the rest of us!”

‘Holly, Emma and Myleene have all quite rightly won places high up in the poll. All are second time mums so know how to combine stylish outfits with practical needs.

‘With toddlers and pre-schoolers they’re all too aware that light colours are a no no when mucky hands are around and jeans and pumps are perfect for a trip to the park, zoo or beach.

‘They all cleverly combine high street and designer outfits and show other mums how to dress their bump in style.’

Victoria Beckham – 34 per cent
Holly Willoughby – 28 per cent
Emma Bunton – 15 per cent
Mylene Klass – 12 per cent
Jessica Alba – 5 per cent
Natalie Portman – 3 per cent
Mel B – 2 per cent
Pink – 1 per cent
The survey of 16 to 25-year-olds was conducted by Josoblu.co.uk

news evagodmother

There’s no doubt the pair are firm friends. But Victoria Beckham has denied reports she has already chosen Eva Longoria to be godmother to her unborn baby girl.

With a few weeks to go before she is scheduled to give birth to her fourth child, Posh hasn’t even begun to think about the christening yet.

Mrs Beckhams’ spokesperson denied a tabloid report today that the ex-Spice Girl had already given the honour to Longoria.

Her representative told the MailOnline: ‘Victoria has not asked Eva to be a godmother and no christening plans have been discussed at this time.

When little Miss Beckham does arrive, there will be a host of celebrity friends to chose from to become her godparents.

Along with husband David, Victoria is said to have considered other stars for the role, including Gordon and Tana Ramsay, Heidi Klum and Seal and even Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Victoria and Eva, who have been showbiz friends for four years, became even closer when the designer helped the actress through her divorce from basketball star Tony Parker earlier this year.

Victoria and David’s first two children, 12-year-old Brooklyn and Romeo, eight, count Sir Elton John and Elizabeth Hurley among their godparents.

Victoria is eight months pregnant with her fourth chid with David and is expected to give birth in her current home of Los Angeles.

news olympics

David Beckham launched Samsung’s Olympic campaign this afternoon – but kept fans guessing about his involvement in London 2012.

The ex-Manchester Utd ace has been linked with a number of roles – including a possible coaching position within the Great Britain football team. However the footie ace, who last won a cap for the English national side in 2009, remained tight-lipped, claiming his main priority is taking his kids Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz to the event.

Becks, the global ambassador for the spectacle, said: “I’m incredibly excited. It’s the first time I’m going to be at an Olympics. I’m proud and delighted to be able take my sons to an Olympic Games in our country, in the area where I grew up. And hopefully my daughter will be there too.”

When asked what his involvement will be, tanned David replied: “We’ll see. That’s a question on many people’s lips. I’ve been asked a few times what my involvement will be. I’m going to be a fan, that’s the biggest thing, watching the athletes that we’ve got. People like Jessica Ennis and Tom Daley, young athletes who will inspire so many young children around the world, not just in our country. “That’s an exciting prospect.”

David, who helped London bid for the Games back in 2005, added: “The Olympics mean the world to everyone and it’s such a great event to be part of. I remember the rivalries between Seb Coe and Steve Ovett but the exciting thing will be seeing athletes from all over the world in the area where I grew up. When Seb Coe and the London 2012 team asked me to get involved in the bid to bring the Olympics not just to our country but to the part of London where I grew up I must admit I was sceptical at first. I’d obviously never competed in the Olympics so was honoured and flattered to be part of the team. And the moment that we actually got the Olympics – to be part of that – was one of the most rewarding moments of my career. It was so special.”

David and pregnant wife Victoria are expecting their fourth child – confirmed to be a girl – on July 4.

The midfielder jetted in from LA this morning especially to launch Samsung’s Olympic campaign. And today he announced 18-year-old Gabriella Roseje from Bermondsey as his first nomination to be one of the 8000 torchbearers at the event.

Sports fanatic Gabriella helps work with disadvantaged kids in the capital.

David said: “Gabriella is an impressive and inspiring person. Not only is she successful in her own right, she willingly supports and help those around her. Gabriella stands out for all the right reasons.”

Gabriella said: “It came as a surprise but I’m so excited and proud. I hope my nomination inspires others to nominate someone.”

news workingmom

Victoria Beckham intends to carry on working following the birth of her fourth child this summer because she is too busy with her fashion business to take maternity leave.

The British star is due to become mother to a baby girl in July, her fourth child with soccer star husband David Beckham, and she had been expected to take a break from her duties with her self-titled fashion business following the birth.

But Beckham is adamant she won’t be taking a break as she has too much work to do.

She tells Glamour magazine, “Maternity leave, what’s that? I’ve been working incredibly hard so I’m prepared for next season. Being a working mum is hard – I think women can relate to me when I say it’s like juggling glass balls… My husband and children will always be my priority. But for me, what I do professionally doesn’t feel like a job – it’s my passion”.

news melcvictoria

Melanie C explained her band-mate  Victoria Beckham – who already has three sons, Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, eight, and six-year-old Cruz, with her husband David Beckham – is ”thrilled” to be finally adding a baby daughter to her brood.

She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: ”Victoria is thrilled to be having a girl. She was very, very excited to let us all know.

”Her boys are absolutely lovely and beautiful – they’re beautiful boys – but them having a little sister is a dream come true. She’s going to be the best looked after little girl in the whole world.”

Mel – who was also joined in the five-piece girl band by Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Mel B – also thinks Victoria and David’s daughter, who is due to be born on July 4, will be taking over the 37-year-old star’s fashion empire in the future.

Speaking at the launch of Virgin Active’s London Triathlon Team this week, Mel added: ”I’m sure she’s going to be very stylish if she follows in her parents’ footsteps – they’re both very fashionable people. She’ll be taking over that fashion empire in no time!”

news babiesreunion

Mel C thinks the “Spice babies” would make a Spice Girls reunion difficult.

The 37-year-old singer – who was joined in the band by Victoria Beckham, Mel B, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton – admitted while she would love the five-piece to get together for a reunion tour there are “babies everywhere”, which could make it “difficult”.

Mel – who has two-year-old daughter Scarlett with her partner Thomas Starr – exclusively told BANG Showbiz: “I didn’t think it would happen the first time around and it did, and it was such good fun. I would love to do it but the timing would have to be right and we’ve got to make sure all the other girls are up for it.

“It’s difficult with all the Spice babies though, everyone has got so much on their plates right now and of course we’ve got Victoria and Melanie’s babies due to be born in the next few months.

“There are literally babies everywhere at the moment – there’s so many of them now, it’s incredible.”

Mel B is currently pregnant with her third child, but her first with husband Stephen Belafonte, while Victoria – who already has three sons with her husband David – is due to give birth to a girl on July 4.

Emma has two sons, three-year-old Beau and newborn Tate, with her fiance Jade Jones and Geri has a five-year-old daughter Bluebell.

The ‘When You’re Gone’ singer admits she still misses her time with the globe-conquering girl group, and would love to “re-live” it again.

She added: “We’ve had such great success and we’ve got such great fans out there, it’s really nice to get back together because people want to see it.

“When you’re in something you really take it for granted but then when you step away from the situation you miss it, so it would be nice to re-live it again. It seems like a lifetime ago. I still think, ‘Did that really happen?’ I’ve got so many great memories of that time.”
