Last night, former spice girl Emma Bunton joined a group of excited Brownies for some late night giggling and bed time stories.

Emma joined the young fundraisers from Fife, Scotland as they bedded down for The Giant Sleepover to raise money for UNICEF UK, the world’s leading children’s organisation.

It was so much fun to be at the Brownies sleepover. It was absolute chaos but such a giggle. It brought back special memories of my sleepovers. My favourite part was the sing song – we all sang One Direction songs together! I don’t think the girls will ever forget the excitement of tonight! – Emma

The group of 21 Brownies were flown down to London on Saturday morning, courtesy of UNICEF partner easyJet, for the ultimate sleepover at special venue Top Trumps Towers. Emma joined the girls for a top trump turbo tournament, twister and ‘design your own top trumps’ craft session, before sitting down with the Brownies to read them a bedtime story.

And on top of all that it’s a privilege to be here supporting UNICEF UK and the Brownies and their efforts to raise as much money as possible for the world’s most vulnerable children. – Emma

The Saline and Blairhall Brownies from Fife were amongst thousands of children around the world who took part in The Giant Sleepover last night, one of the world’s largest sleepovers. Sleeping over at venues up and down the country including spooky castles, forests, sea life sanctuaries and football stadiums, children were sponsored for taking part and raised money on the night through night time activities.

Last night was amazing. The girls were so excited and they were beside themselves when Emma arrived. It was just wonderful. And on top of that this is the first time that most of the girls have been in London or flown on a plane. Such a treat, and we’ve raised money to help other children around the world. What could be better. – Jane Coates, Brown Owl of the Saline and Blairhall Brownies

Children taking part in the Giant Sleepover are raising money to fund UNICEF’s life saving work around the world where every 15 seconds, a child somewhere in the world dies because of hunger.
