Victoria Beckham shoots down claims she’s ‘called in the lawyers’ against the Spice Girls reunion

Victoria Beckham shoots down claims she’s ‘called in the lawyers’ against the Spice Girls reunion

Victoria Beckham has denied claims she’s drafted in the lawyers to prevent the Spice Girls reunion from performing their biggest hits.

It was previously reported Victoria Beckham was taking legal action against the reunion featuring Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton and Geri Horner, blocking them from performing songs she helped co-write like Say You’ll Be There and Spice Up Your Life.

Representatives for Victoria however have since denied the claims to Metro.co.uk, saying: ‘No legal letter was sent, this is a fabrication by The Sun and this story is now being handled legally by Victoria’s lawyer.

The reports were given credence following comments Victoria previously made regarding how she’d wish the reunited trio would perform their own songs.

‘I do think they should sing new material,’ Victoria said. ‘Because what we did as the Spice Girls was so special. If they sang Spice Girls songs, I think I might be a bit sad.’

Melanie C also snubbed plans for the reunion tour, believing they went out on a high with their performance at the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony.

The reunited trio also hit trouble recently, after it seems Geri Horner is backing out due to family commitments.

David Beckham buys paramedic hot drink

david_01

David Beckham bought hot drinks for a paramedic and her patient after he spotted them waiting for an ambulance in the cold. Cycle response paramedic Catherine Maynard was helping an elderly man, who had fallen in central London.

Ms Maynard said the former England captain greeted them, got in his car and returned 10 minutes later with cups of tea and coffee.

“We were both very amused and flattered,” she said. ‘Think that was Beckham’

Ms Maynard said she had been trying to keep her patient warm as they waited for an ambulance near Endsleigh Street.

“All of a sudden, I looked up and saw someone who looked like David Beckham walking past us,” she said.

“He said hello and got in his car. I said to the man I was treating, ‘I think that was David Beckham’. Ten minutes later, he came back with a cup of coffee for me and a tea for the patient.

“It was awful cycling around in the cold today and I couldn’t believe it when he came back with some hot drinks – I was so chuffed.”

London Ambulance Service said Beckham had shown he “respects hard-working paramedics and even a gesture as small as buying a cup of coffee makes our crews feel appreciated”.

The patient was taken to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

Victoria Victoria Beckham Pre-Fall 2016

We’ve all heard it — a picture is worth 1,000 words. As an aspiring pop star, Victoria Beckham wanted to be as famous as Persil Automatic (the Tide detergent of Europe), a bon mot recounted by countless media outlets. Now, Beckham is expressing the thought visually, by putting a graphic that nods to Persil’s packaging — without copying — on a T-shirt.

Such is the ebullience of the designer’s Victoria Victoria Beckham line, particularly this season. “We have lots of fun with it,” Beckham said during a walk-through. Conversation prints — a feisty fruit basket motif and “cocktails” featuring undrinkable but pretty nonalcoholic concoctions photographed in her studio — were blown up and splashed across dresses and separates cut simply with a hint of the Sixties. Then there was the denim, recently folded from its former stand-alone positioning into VVB. The news here was in patchwork looks, inspired by a scarecrow Beckham said she encountered during a visit to a Los Angeles-area pumpkin patch — no kidding. Yet lest the revelry overwhelm, she offered moments of calm as well in pinstripes used unexpectedly, on, for example, a spunky T-shirt dress. And like Persil, it’s all got to perform for the customer. “It’s about getting the balance of the fun and making it wearable as well,” Beckham said.

Spice Girls reunion for Hyde Park? Mel C would be a good sport

21:53, 3 NOV 2015 UPDATED 21:57, 3 NOV 2015
BY HANNAH HOPE

Sport Spice says: “Performing at Hyde Park would be amazing. I think for the Spice Girls that would be appropriate”

Mel C reckons London’s Hyde Park would be the perfect venue if the Spice Girls ever manage to get back together.

She tells us: “We’ve talked about it, but we just haven’t got our act together.

“We’re a bit useless.

“But performing at Hyde Park would be amazing.

“I went to see Taylor Swift there this year and it was so wonderful. It was a really good, fun gig. I think for the Spice Girls that would be appropriate. It’s a bit more friendly.”

Yet a possible reunion for the Brit awards in February is definitely not on the cards.

Mel, right, adds: “There’s definitely no chance we’ll get our act together by then.

“It’s a shame, actually. We need to stop procrastinating and get on with something.”

Sort it out, girls.

Ex-England captain David Beckham backs Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney to hit top form

David Beckham believes former England team-mate Wayne Rooney will continue to defy the critics.

Rooney became England’s record goalscorer last month, but his form at United has been patchy since the start of the season.

The 29-year-old has found the net just once in the Premier League, but Beckham is confident Rooney will soon be among the goals at his former club.

“I don’t think you can ever write off a player that’s scored the number of goals he has for England and Manchester United,” said Beckham.

“Being the player he is and has been over the years, you can never write off someone like that.

“Players like that can always make you eat your words.”

Rooney started the season as United’s main striker, but Louis van Gaal has shifted his skipper into the number 10 role since Anthony Martial joined from Monaco.

The United manager deployed Rooney as a central midfielder at times last term, and that is where Beckham believes the England captain is destined to end his career.

Beckham reckons Rooney will follow the path of another United favourite, Ryan Giggs, who altered his role in the latter stages of his career.”I think when you get older, you have to adapt your play. Ryan Giggs was a prime example,” Beckham said.

“He got to a certain age and then he dropped into midfield a lot more and played that central role. I think Wayne will do the same.

“He’s an out-and-out goalscorer, but I think at the end of the day with Wayne, he’s proved he can step into the midfield and play.

“If you’re comfortable on the ball, as players such as Wayne and Giggsy are you can do that.”

David Beckham Says Wife Victoria ‘Had Quite the Party’ After ‘Spilt Drink’ Photos Surface

Victoria Beckham took a well deserved night to let loose!

While talking about his H&M Modern Essentials campaign at Gemma restaurant in New York City, David Beckham dished to ET about the couple’s recent wild night out, after which his wife left her event with a mysterious wet spot on her pants.

“My wife looked like she’d had quite the party and she did,” admitted David, referring to the shindig held last week at Victoria’s London boutique. “It was a big release for her.”

“I kind of kept it together,” he continued, explaining that Victoria had been putting in overtime leading up to her successful Fashion Week collection, and “deserved a night like that because she’s worked hard.”

“We all had a good night,” David added

In response to how gentlemanly it was for him to help his one and only through her super fun night, the soccer star modestly replied, “I was trying. I was trying.”

Following the release of the photos in question, Victoria’s rep gave possibly the best statement to ET regarding the incident: “This was simply the result of the most unfortunate positioning of a spilt drink, whilst Victoria was sitting down – thankfully it was not a ‘dampener’ on what was a fantastic night.”

We love you both.

Former spice girl Mel C says it’s important we keep the memory of the 96 who lost their lives during the Hilsborough disaster alive.

Today over 2,300 runners took part in a charity race at Stanley Park to mark the 26th anniversary of the disaster.

A team of 10 intrepid runners have also completed a 78-mile run from Hillsborough to Anfield over the past two days.

Speaking ahead of today’s 5k , Mel C said it is important to keep the memory of the 96 alive.

She said: “It’s so wonderful to be here today for the very first Run for the 96 5k.

“I’ve been aware of it for a while, and I just think it’s a brilliant opportunity for the city – and people from all over the world – to take part for the first one.

“I hope it gets bigger and better. It’s raising so much money for the local community, but also to keep the memory alive which is so, so important.”

RUMOUR: Simon Cowell has ‘fired Mel B from The X Factor after just one series’…

It was confirmed last month that Dermot O’Leary had quit his role as host.

And now another fan favourite looks set to bite the dust, with a new report claiming Mel B has been sensationally axed from the show after just one series as a judge, despite impressing viewers with her down-to-earth personality and honest critiques.

A source told The Sun newspaper: ‘Bosses are evolving The X Factor and it has been decided Mel won’t return.’

‘Simon and the producers are now looking for a replacement for Mel’, a second insider added.
‘If they fail to find a suitable candidate there is a small chance she could be back.’

[Melanie C] Asia’s Got Talent press launch event in Singapore

AXN held Asia’s Got Talent press launch event in Singapore on 27 January, 27th 2015. Anggun, David Foster, Melanie C, and Van Ness Wu are the judges for Asia’s Got Talent which will be aired in AXN and many other local channels on March, 12th 2015.

Melanie C reveals she is to be a judge on Asia’s Got Talent

While Mel B has been ruffling feathers on the panel for Britain’s X Factor, her former bandmate Melanie C has revealed she’s about to go one bigger and better … as a judge on Asia’s Got Talent.

The Spice Girl has been signed up for the show which is being billed as the biggest talent competition in the world.

She has been teasing fans via her social media since jetting out to Singapore to film the series, and now she’s announced the reason behind her globetrotting.

“I am thrilled to have been asked to be a part of the judging panel for what promises to be the mother of all talent shows,” says Melanie. “Not only will I get to enjoy the performances of applicants from 13 countries (hopefully there will be some opportunities for a bit of chair-dancing!) but I also get to travel to an amazing part of the world that I rarely have the chance to visit. How exciting is that?!!

“It’s going to be broadcast in more countries than I can remember … and there was me thinking that this year’s birthday would be dull compared to last year!”

Melanie is joined in the judging line-up by three other big names in the worldwide music industry, although perhaps they’re less well known in the UK.

Multiple Grammy-winning music producer David Foster, who discovered and helped launch the careers of Michael Buble, Josh Groban and Celine Dion, is in there along with Indonesian rock icon Anggun and Taiwanese-American pop idol Van Ness Wu.

Singers or groups who advance to the semi-finals will face a a viewer audience vote, with the semi-finals and finale being held at the iconic Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. The winner will be awarded a contract to return and perform live.

Asia’s Got Talent is the 63rd version of Got Talent, and the world’s first ever pan-regional edition of the show which won the Guinness World Records title for being the world’s Most Successful Reality TV Format in 2014. It is co-owned by FremantleMedia and Simon Cowell’s Syco Entertainment.
